MG Hector’s 2026 Refresh: What’s New in Style, Comfort, and Technology

MG has officially announced that the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs are set to receive a new update on 15 December. This will mark their fourth front-end styling refresh since their debut, highlighting MG’s commitment to keeping the Hector twins competitive in the market.

The upcoming facelift will introduce a refreshed exterior, featuring a redesigned front profile, a new grille design, and updated bumpers. The alloy wheels are anticipated to be redesigned as well, with reports indicating a potential upgrade to larger 19-inch wheels. The rear section will also see slight modifications with a new bumper design. Additional images have shown a new dark blue color option for the SUV.

While the interior layout is expected to remain largely the same, enhancements in comfort and convenience features are anticipated. We expect the large 14-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system to be upgraded, along with a tidier centre console and a revised interior theme.

Under the hood, MG is likely to keep the powertrain options unchanged. The updated models are expected to feature the familiar engines: a 1.5-litre turbo petrol available with a six-speed manual or CVT, and a 2.0-litre diesel mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
